Large Mad! Superman/Batman #26

I have scanned in a large version of Mad's Superman/Batman 3#26 page..enjoy!

Superman/Batman #26 out and Inks

Superman/Batman #26 is out and if you haven't already you should pick one up.

In the mean time Mike McMahon has found a site that will be auctioning off the pages from the book. It also has Joe Mad's page in ink which I added to the gallery and you can view all the other pages too, so check it out here LINK and hey if you're rich enough maybe you can actually get a chance to win a Mad! page.

In personal news I just started working full time(I start in about a week). I doubt that will effect updating the site any, but maybe for the next couple weeks until I get used to time schedual things will probably be a little slow around here. The job pays real well too(for me at least), so hopefully I can maybe add some things to the site..like no ads on the message boards or maybe some contests..we shall see :)

Vigil site updates and 34 new links added and more...

The Vigil Games site has updated, nothing much but there's some art on there. I don't know they're by Mad! yet.

I also updated the Links section with 34 new links and I removed some that haven't been working for a long time.

Other interesting note, in the new Wizard #178 there's an article about J Scott Campbell working on Spider Man. In the article Jeph Loeb shows Campbell at a meeting a binder full of Mad! artwork for Ultimates Vol 3. Campbell says "Joe's style has really evolved. He's really taken it to the next level." You can see some of Campbell's sketches for Spider Man here. I never had any doubts that it would look good, but hearing it from Campbell that Mad! is taking it too the next level makes it hard to not be even more excited for the book...I wish I could see that binder too :D

12 New Dungeon Runner Concept Art and More News

Mike a.k.a. Madjoy on the boards posted on his Mad! Blog with news that the Dungeon Runners website updated with some new concept art from Mad!. I have upload the 12 images to the site for easy access. The Dungeon Runners site also has some wallpapers with Mad! art, only one had different art and I added that image too..but still check them out if you want some Mad! wallpapers. Also if you check out one of the pictures it is the same as one used for the Exarch game. I also made a Dungeon Runners section in the video games section and you'll notice some doubles of the images, they are the same but the early ones are better quality.

I also heard back from Mad! a few weeks ago and he confirmed he did design the image on the front of the Vigil Games site and I have uploaded it also. Mad! also said how Ultimates is going..."Ultimates is coming along nicely. Loeb's given me some very fun stuff to draw, so it's not that hard to bang out cool pages. It's definitely some of my favorite personal stuff in a while. Anyhow, getting back to it ( actually trying to finish another page tonight!)." Hopefully we will get to see some more art from Ultimates soon...hint hint Joe.

I will probably update the links section in a couple days too, so look for that.

THQ acuires Vigil Games

news from the IGN site..

"Today, THQ announced their acquisition of Vigil Games, a Texas based studio currently working on next-gen titles scheduled to be released in 2008.

According to Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of world wide studios at THQ, "This acquisition is part of our Studio System strategy, which is designed to foster a singular vision and unique culture at each of our studios. Our system allows us to leverage resources across our entire development organization to the benefit of each of our studios.

Vigil Games is led by David Adams, the former director and creator of several NCsoft projects as well as Joe Madureira, who worked on both Marvel's Uncanny X-Men series and his own Battle Chasers series. Its first project is slated to be announced later this year. "

so looks like we will be able to see what the new game is by Vigil and Mad! by the end of the year and looks to be on the PS2(or PS3 by that time) and Xbox360 too...sweet!

Comment section deleted :(

Well first went the Email section and now the Comments section, I hope I don't have to remove the Forums too. Sorry to some of you that enjoyed those things, but I just can't deal with the comments...nothing like waking up to super offensive comments that are directed at you only because you created a site for the artist you enjoy..

..So you win Jason I asked Steven to remove the comments section from the front page. I can't keep up with deleting all your offensive comments and all the people your impersonating.

sorry everybody :(

Dungeon Runner Concept Art

JoshuaTheJames over at conceptart.org posted this LINK of some concept art done by Mad! for a game called Dungeon Runner(I think) by NcSoft. There's 3 images by Mad!, I'm not sure if these are done under the Vigil company or some older concepts that are now just been shown, I'll look into and maybe see if Mad! can give some info if he's not busy. Thanks for the news Joshua!

No news just sharing..

Just wanted to share the sketch I won on Ebay. I got it a couple weeks ago and just got it in the mail this last week. The scans are from the Ebay auction..I might still make some other scans not sure yet I'm just affraid to take it out of the frame.

Well..congrats to me! :D

Wizard #173 article and image!

The new Wizard is out! and while the article is short it's great to see some news from Mad! and a new sketch. I have put the article up along with the sketch..there is another page in the magazine but it's just the Captain America drawing that I've already scanned.

Lots of News!

First site news..Everything is back except for the checklist. All the images have been put back and named, hopefully I got them all..if you see some untiled ones let me know. The latest images(the box to the right--->) is showing old images and will until something new images come up..so if you're looking for the recent Ultimates Vol 3 sketches they're in the Other>Magazines section.

Other site news I have updated the links page with 60 new links..it's been awhile :D

In Mad! news the DC solicitations confirms that Mad! will be doing Superman/Batman #26 and is slated to come out in April. If news changes on this I will let you guys know.

Also be on the look out for the next issue of Wizard that comes out next wednesday.. January 25th. It's suppose to have stuff about Mad! in it..let's hope a lot of stuff :)

Darksiders website update.
Holy Sh!t! This website is f$@kin awsome! The animated graphic characters look awsome! If they could redo World of Warcraft with this type of graphic I would so be in love. This team has taken video game graphics to a whole new level.

Working on Darksiders I guess. don't think he'll participate on forums and stuff, he once posted a message on -concept art- forum because a job was available on his department and the response were questions on BC and if he was returning to comics...

Feels weird seeing Joe's old pencil work lol. I think "Wow! Joe slacked off in so much detail. . . how could he ever miss a deadline!", but when I compare his past work with todays I'm amazed to see he put so much more effort into filling up the empty space. When I look at Darksider I think "Comic Book", when I look at his past work I think "Animation". Anyway, thanks for post these up! Also Thanks Joe for letting Nathen post these up lol! I think this is enough to fuel me up for while. :P

Errr... I wouldn't go that far to say "he's lazy". I'm sure Joe has his reasons for not handing over the goodies. Gotta remember this isn't just a JoeMad decision this is a JoeMad and company decision on weither or not he is allowed to post any art on the web.
